Monday pics

A Tree Sparrow, as caught by my son beneath the bird feeder using MY camera. I had no idea it could do that!
Isn't he pretty?

And this, my son believes, is a Chipping Sparrow, though if there are any birders out there feel free to correct!

Anyway. Today you can find me over at Unicorn Bell critiquing someone's first page :)

  3. I often feed sparrows, since the poor birds are here during the winter as well....

    1. We have suet, too, which attracts woodpeckers and they are very attractive!

  7. Wondering what kind of camera you have now. . . I know my D-SLR has many settings which I haven't tried yet. Good job for your son. That's perfect for bird watching and recording what you've seen (my hubs is a casual birder), but he always checks his bird book.
That son of yours may need his own camera soon.

    1. He does need a camera, one with a good telephoto lens so he can get all the birds.

  8. That is quite pretty. You should make a bird blog. They generate tons of traffic.

  10. Great photography. It's so cold I've seen few birds lately. I don't know how they're surviving.

  14. Sooo cute . . . hope this bitterly cold weather doesn't affect them . . . also your Maine lobsters . . .

    1. I'm sure it does affect them but I'm told that having a feeder helps the birds make it through the really cold stretches - plus they're fun to watch!

  16. He's adorable. Love the pics and I know I wouldn't be able to do this trick even if someone showed me LOL. I am generally hopeless with a camera.

    1. The first two are Tree Sparrows, the last guy is a Chipping Sparrow who decided to hang out with them. Maybe he got lost?
