Sunday pics - Geese

Yep. That's what I've got in my little 'pond.' Mostly it's just some water with cattails and weeds and peepers and a little stream that runs under the road. But this is the second year in a row the geese have tried to raise a family here. I say tried because last year I don't think any of the babies made it (snapping turtles being the likely reason why). I do hope a couple of them make it this year. They're awful cute...

Have a lovely Sunday :)

    1. It is a great pic, but not mine. Found it under 'gosling pics.' My geese wouldn't let me get close enough and I don't have a good enough camera to zoom in :(

    1. Yes, we suspect they may have gotten one of my cats a few years back; she used to like to hang around the waters edge.

  5. Any chance you could hire a hitman to remove said turtles?

  7. Cute picture. We haven't seen as many geese in the past couple of springs... don't know where they went.

    1. snappers?

I'm actually surprised these are here since they're probably the same pair that was here last year. You'd think they'd try a different (safer) spot. But maybe there isn't one. Maybe there are predators wherever they go.

  9. They are very cute.
Eels are often the culprit down this way when cygnets, ducklings or goslings are that small.
