I always celebrate with my kids and their friends though with a big halloween party.Creepy Query Girlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18115161057496086972noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8733289016000331233.post-65595165433143672010-11-01T19:33:07.244-04:002010-11-01T19:33:07.244-04:00Piece of taffy rather than cake - love that though...Piece of taffy rather than cake - love that thought... but so sorry you haven't had that cake! I sometimes wished I lived in a neighborhood so I could have fun decorating. Hubs is sitting at the end of the driveway in our development handing out the candy. I'm inside in the warmth trying to write, of course. Every once in awhile I go out to check on him, bring him hot chocolate, replenish the candy supply, visit for a little etc. We will probably get at least 100 trick-or-treaters. Hubs likes to sit outside to hand out the candy so that the doorbell doesn't ring constantly and cause our dog, Kakita, to go ballistic. Hope you are having a happy Halloween, Marcy.Buffy Andrewshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07033283884801658206noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8733289016000331233.post-42188186774818493072010-10-31T17:49:02.342-04:002010-10-31T17:49:02.342-04:00Halloween isn't really celebrated in Australia...Halloween isn't really celebrated in Australia so I was so surprised when a bunch of neighbourhood kids came knocking at the door. And me and my husband still love dressing up! It's been really fun the last two years that we've been able to take our son trick-or-treating. Of course, he's still young, so we get most of the candy. :)Shalleehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09907680428735740943noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8733289016000331233.post-65754671990351718522010-10-31T12:24:04.659-04:002010-10-31T12:24:04.659-04:00I think that might be one of my best memories: the...I think that might be one of my best memories: the neighborhood I grew up in which was ideal for trick or treating AND back in the day when parents could send their kids off alone. We cleaned up and dined secretly on candy for weeks afterward. I wasn't crazy about letting them go off and do that, but then my husband's cousin passed away, and her viewing was scheduled for Halloween night. (???)

So, my husband and I will attend the viewing; the daughters will trick-or-treat with their friends, and our dog will stay home and bark at anyone brave enough to ring our doorbell.Dianne K.
