today

I have nothing - unless you want to hear about my revisions, which, I'm guessing not. I mean, we all know how it goes, right? It's simply a matter of reading your own story a million times and finding every word that isn't needed, every misspelling, every wrong tense, every passive sentence, every spot where you have to read the sentence again to understand what you obviously didn't make clear in the first place, and every place where one or more of your characters just isn't acting like themselves, or maybe isn't acting at all, you know, like Hayden Christiansen in those awful Star Wars movies with the even more awful Jar Jar (what the heck was George Lucas thinking?) Binks. C'mon, George, can't I please kill him?

But if you absolutely have to have something I'm over at unicorn bell today.

  1. I love hearing about writers' revisions. Maybe that's because it's my favorite part of the process. Sure beats writing the first draft. :P

  2. Sounds like revisions to me. And no one could act with the lines Lucas handed his characters in the last few Star Wars movies.

  3. I'm hosting The Practice Room tonight at 8pm if you want to work on revisions for a solid hour and then join a chat at 9pm. I'll send you the link by email.

  4. Haha, the only thing I liked about those movies was Jar Jar. But only because his ears are cute :D Good luck with your revisions! I'm just about to start another one on my WIP. :)

  5. Revising definitely takes its own mindset -- still creative, but more reconstructive, I guess. I'm with you on the Star Wars prequels; I shall never recover.

  7. Stina, I'm starting to believe you may be right.

Alex, good point, but I still don't think the guy can act.

    Marisa, say it isn't so!

    Milo, lol

Happy, you are so right. My worst day writing easily beats out my best day at my present place of employment. easily.
