Over the hump

Yep. That's right. I'm past the halfway point in my current work. Which means I'm pretty much obligated to finish it now. Usually if I'm going to abandon something I've done it by now. And sadly, I have many abandoned works. Most sit in a file with names like THE GIFT (very original, I know) and THE HIGHWAYMAN. I might actually finish the latter if I can get back into a time-traveling romance mood. But right now I'm almost entirely in the present. Because that's where Kass, my main character, resides.

One fun thing I'll share is that I've managed to insert one of my favorite cars into the story...

And I have to tell you my heart does a little skip at the sight of that car, which is utterly swoonworthy.

  2. Yay!! Can't wait to see what happens next.

I'm over the hump, too. Horrified by the word count, which is fat, fat, fat. And wondering how I'm going to squeeze all the explanations into an exciting, action-filled climax. But hey, heading downhill fast is fun, right, Marcy?

  3. Oooh, nice car. The teenage boys in my novels are begging me to give them that car instead of what I have given them. :)

    1. wll, my guy has a good reason for driving that car (aside from the fact that I just wanted it in my story), and technically, it isn't his; it's his dead uncle's and he's just driving it back home.

  4. Love the car, and I'm happy you reached the mid point. I have many half finished works. What's that about. I seem a bit more focused right now at this point in my life.
    Hang in.

  11. Congratulations. I've gotta tell you, when I saw the picture of that car, I kinda cracked up. My cousin married her first husband because he had a "cool car." (Honest to God!) And it was THAT car. A Mustang. The funny ... no, HILARIOUS ... thing is, shortly after they got married, he got rid of the Mustang, and bought (are you ready?) a purple hearse! Alas, the marriage was pretty much dead after that ...

    1. good thing she got rid of him. Anyone who would trade a mustang for a hearse is an idiot in my book!

  12. Congrats on getting to Middle Earth as I call it. Now you can sail along to the end I hope. Don't worry, you'll use your discarded stories somehow, someday.

I've been reading your critiques. Your input certainly made the mss move along more smoothly. I started working on one but didn't get it ready. Maybe I'll send it another time.

Have a great weekend (well, it's nearly the weekend here!)

  13. Oooh that's one fine piece of machinery! I'm struggling with one of those novels right now. I've decided I'm going to finish it though. I know exactly how you feel. :)

  14. Awesome to hear you've passed the halfway point and that you're planning on sticking with it. Having abandoned works is normal (well, it had better be because I have a few of my own hehe).

  15. Oh yeah! That is one awesome Mustang. My step brother had one of those new.
