coming soon to a blog near you

Yup, it's the A to Z blogfest, and while it may still be two and half months away it isn't too early to start planning and maybe even writing some of those posts. Trust me, I know. I've done this before. In fact, I wrote my first post last night.

As for my subject, if you didn't guess, it's scifi. This gives me a nice big range from movies to books to terms associated with scifi like superluminal tunnels, FTL (faster than light), and wormholes, hence the piccie from Monday, courtesy of Wikipedia.

An artist's impression of a wormhole from an observer's perspective, crossing the event horizon of a Schwarzschild wormhole which bridges two different universes. The observer originates from the right, and another universe becomes visible in the center of the wormhole’s shadow once the horizon is crossed, the observer seeing light that has fallen into the black hole interior region from the other universe; however, this other universe is unreachable in the case of a Schwarzschild wormhole, as the bridge always collapses before the observer has time to cross it, and everything that has fallen through the event horizon of either universe is inevitably crushed in the singularity.

I'm looking forward to learning some new things from my own posts as well as everyone else's. Have you been thinking about your plan? Or is your plan to take a month off and watch everyone else scramble and run around? I'd be interested to hear if you care to share.

Meanwhile Dianne and I are still looking for a first page or two for February's First Impressions so if you would like yours critiqued send it along (click on contact me).

  3. That's cool. I haven't seen that theme done. Some themes get over done. You have a lot more leeway with SF. :)

  7. Yep, I'm going to sit back this year and watch the rest of you scramble. Sci-fi should be an infinite source of information. Looking forward to it, though I suspect most of it will go over my head. :)

I'll have to think about that first page. I've completely revised my first chapter and should get some input.

  15. I haven't decided for sure if I'm gonna participate this year or simply take the month off and sit around eating bonbons and sipping mint juleps. (riiiiight) I know what topic I'd use if I go for it, but still not sure. Guess I'd better make up my mind real soon, because last year, I had all the posts written by the end of March.
