Sunday Pics

Well. I haven't done a Sunday pics in a while so...

I will begin with Sven, my new kitten

I got him in October - let's call him a birthday present to myself - spotting him on Facebook at The Animal House, a local place for pet stuff and adoptions. I'd lost my awesome black cat, Jasper, a while back and here was this little guy showing up on my Feed in need of a home...well let's just say I was down there pretty damn quick. He's still absolutely adorable and I love him to pieces.

Then there's the pawn shop, which has been fairly quiet until last week. Here's a few pics of various places.

Don't you love the creepy dolls? Yeah, me neither, lol.

Last but by no means least is this Cooper's Hawk that came to visit the shop. I took some pics with my phone but couldn't get any decent shots. Luckily, my favorite birder (my son) came by and got some great pics. He has this massive zoom lens, and if you want to see more awesome pics of his, check out my facebook page. I post a lot of the pics he sends me.

In other news, I have only read two books this year, which is a bit sad, and watched very little television. We are still watching The Americans and only have a few episodes left til the end. I admit I am very worried for many of the characters. Watched The Dead Don't Die last night which was funny, probably mostly because of who was in it. I have been writing fairly diligently - my current work in progress stands at 50k - querying, and playing too much Scrabble - my average score is 373 and my average word is 24.5, which is pretty good although admittedly Scrabble on line is easier to get higher points than the actual game.

And now, I'm off to kill zombies with my brother :)

Have a wonderful week and stay well!

  1. Sven is adorable. Cool you got him from a rescue site. Don't let him out around the hawk.

  2. I have a HUGE weakness for black moggies so Sven stole this post.
    50k? Well done you.

  4. Sven is a great name, cute kitty, too. Considering it's January and *gestures* you know, 2 books is pretty good. Good job!

I just got HBO Max, so I've been catching up on shows I missed there. I'm currently on the hunt for something new, but broadcast TV has kept my interest with a couple things I like that started back up.

    1. I have a huge list but have been writing and killing zombies instead of watching

  5. Sven is such a star! My cats are very bitchy and won't really let me cuddle them, they just demand I feed them.

  6. Sven is so photogenic! Every picture I take of my cat, she's either asleep or looks as though she's about to murder me.

I've been playing online Scrabble with a friend of mine, and you're so right. When we have to go back to playing in person, I'm going to miss my high scores.

I have yet to even open a book this year. So, two is an excellent number.

    1. Sven is rather attractive, I must admit :) and 2 is better than none!

  8. Your new kitty is adorable. And unusual, too... not many Svens have dark hair. :) I dunno what I'd do without my Dot and Dash. They're great company, great cuddlers, and they never complain about the old clothes I wear around the house. (They have, however, staged a couple of interventions when they thought it was time for me to take a shower...)

    Take care, and be safe.

    1. Cats are the best, and yes, Sven may seem like an odd name but it works for him if you knew him. Sometimes I call him my little Svenness.

  9. Love your new kitten. Such fun. The scary dolls, not so much! Sounds like you are doing some good writing. Hooray for you, Marcy!

  10. Your son has true talent. And I believe he gets it from you. :) I'm sorry reading has been put on the back burner. My fiction writing has been nonexistent. ~sigh~ But new kitties make everything better, though your loss of Jasper makes me sad. Sven reminds me of Terra Dactyl. ~grin~ Her sister is more plump and pretty, though they are both zooming around the house as I type. lol Best wishes, my dear. And thank you for these ever cool pictures of the shop.

    1. Jasper's been gone a while, so the loss isn't new, and he lived a good long life (almost 20 years!) and had many adventures.
