Werewolf or Vampire?

I know. They’ve been done to death of late (and not always well), which is too bad, because I love a good vampire and/or werewolf story. I cut my teeth on Bram Stoker’s Dracula, which scared the living daylights out of me at age 13 and forced me to sleep with my cross clutched in my hand and the light on for months afterward. Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire was next and it took me a while to figure out why it scared me. It was because she made evil sound so seductive. Laurel Hamilton made me love the wolf as much as the vampire and then Stephanie Myer’s and Charlaine Harris came along and made me fall in love all over again. But which did I want? Did I want to run with a pack but still retain some measure of my humanity? Or did I want to give up the sun in exchange for immortality?

What would you choose? Run with the dogs or live forever?

  1. Neither...Both?

    I am Switzerland...lol.
Actually, since my protag uses magic, I'd prefer a wizard :)

  3. I can't help but wonder if werewolves have dog breath.

I'm not sure if I'm either... but if I had to choose... I guess vampire.

  5. If I had to choose it would be a vampire. I'm allergic to large hairy dogs. Hmmm...that would be interesting. Being allergic to myself.

  6. Probably neither. But there is something alluring about living forever and yet something that's lonely about it. Unless, of course, you have a hot vamp to share it with (smiles).

  7. Marisa; I never considered whether werewolves might have bad breath! lol

Sheri; I knew you'd choose the dogs :)

E; hmm that would be odd to be allergic to yourself -I'm seeing a humorous trend here. Someone should write this.

Buffy; yes, there is something intriguing about living forever. That's my choice. I know it would be sad, but boy would it be interesting and I always think how much more time I'd have to learn things and - write more :)

  8. I don't think I'd pick either. The cost is too high.
