Sunday pics

This is my “swamp” where the peepers peep like mad and muskrats live. You can just see the edge of the hated tennis courts (see associated post) up in the right hand corner. If I had panned right a little more you would see my house. Thankfully it looks more like this right now rather than the pic I posted yesterday. But it's still bloody cold for May.

  2. I love the spring peepers! I don't get to hear them where I live now, but their peeps are a sound I very much associate with my parents' home in Indiana. Lovely picture--interesting to see the same setting in different seasons.

  4. Do they really peep? Cool! It looks lovely and peaceful. I'd hang out there....as long as I was wearing lots of mosquito repellant. It'll get hot soon enough. Wish I could pipe it to you!

  5. old kitty, yeah, muskrats are pretty cute. I have to make sure I keep a good hold of the dog so he doesn't go chase.

sarah, yup, that's my little swamp. It's about the size of a football field with cat o'nine tails, minnows, peepers, bullfrogs (soon) and lots of birds. There's a culvert that runs under the road and a little stream that disappears into the woods.

wc, yes! peepers do peep! And more so at night. They usually start around dusk and by dark it's a symphony.

  6. I love the swamp pic. I used to live near a swamp and it was always great to explore.
