birth of a novel blog chain

I'm not doing Nano myself but one of my partners (Charity) over at Unicorn Bell is and she's gotten together with some other participants to post about it. The idea is that "every Tuesday in November, members will post a progress report and maybe a teaser from their Nano novel. Then they can visit other participants and encourage them to keep working toward their November goals.

This was designed with Nano in mind, but you don’t have to play Nano to participate. Everyone is welcome to grab a button and join the blog chain. (The buttons don't link anywhere, they just say, "Hey, I'm part of this Blog Chain.")If you are interested email me at charity.bradford@gmail.com or Elizabeth at writer.elizabethpoole@gmail.com to get your name on the list. We will email you a list of the links in the chain to include at the bottom of each Birth of a Novel post. We will also keep a list in the sidebar on our blogs.

On Tuesday, November 1st, post your first Birth of a Novel post. Tell us your personal goals for November. Feel free to post a blurb introducing your story idea, or keep it all a secret. Then report on your progress each Tuesday in November."

Sounds easy and fun, especially if you're doing Nano. But hurry - it starts today!

  1. Great idea! I did this within my Facebook group Writer's Support 4 U! Encouraging and supporting each other is paramount. :)

  7. Thanks for the mention Marcy! And for those of you writing, but not Nanoing, you can participate as well. You just start where ever you are. For instance, Huntress already has 70K of her novel written and her goal is to finish and add about another 20K this month.

Personalize, make it work for you. ;)
