meanwhile...

I am very busy what with giving away all those critiques which I can’t wait to read, btw, all those little slices of other worlds and far away places... I got glimpses of the first few as I copied and pasted.

The funny thing is that while I gave these critiques away as a 'present', it feels like I'm getting a gift in return, you know? Anyway, also working furiously on Chapter 7 of LONG WAY HOME, and trying to encourage my CP to send me her next chapter (I’m dying to find out what happens next). She says it needs to percolate. I say she needs to sit her butt down and type that sucker out. Get ‘er done, as they say here in Maine. Well, I don’t say it but supposedly there’s people here who do.

Anyway, that’s what I’m doing. What are you doing?

ps I might get a tree, too, and you know what that means...trimming!

  3. I like to let things percolate too, though I could probably use a little more "Get 'er done" on most days. Still pounding out a first draft, which as always is a slow process for me. BUT I had the best breakthrough on a character yesterday, so percolation on that is done and moving forward today.

    Have fun trimming the tree!

  4. yay for tree trimming!
And i'm sitting on my bum, trying to work up the courage to begin a large revision on my older MS. Once i start, it'll be fine. It's just the starting that's the problem...

  6. Trim the tree!
I found critiquing someone else's work really helped me with my own.

  8. Hey, I thought I commented on this post. I DID read it. :) Love the photo. And it's cool you're getting something out of those critiques--I enjoy it too. I've had my tree up since...Nov. 30 I think! Have fun. :)

  10. Sounds like your WIP is going well! That's awesome. And I definitely think critiquing is a great endeavor, both for the writer and the critter. They're lucky to have you.

  12. That's a lot of work you have for yourself there. Glad you enjoy it, that sure helps.

Home from prep and the market. Off to make supper, followed by dishes and an early bedtime.

    So so sleepy. Zzzzzz.
