Hounded

I just finished this, my first book of 2012, and I loved it - even stayed up way too late reading it, the mark of a good book. I have only two minor quibbles, neither of which I'm going to share because they are so tiny you probably won't even notice them if I don't point them out. And I want you to enjoy this book as much as I did.

Anyway, this nearly perfect book begins when Atticus - our hero and druid extraordinaire - discovers his old nemesis, Aenghus Og, wants a particular sword that Atticus happens to be in possession of.  On Atticus' side are some pretty powerful beings, like the Morrigan (Chooser of the Slain and goddess of war), Brighid (goddess of poetry, fire, and the forge), and Flidais (goddess of the hunt). He's also got Oberon, a wolfhound he can converse with, not to mention 2,000 years of experience. Oh, did I mention that part? Yeah, he's been around a while so he has some skills not to mention a few other interesting allies. Of course, Aenghus has some friends of his own, including some double-dealing witches, Death on a pale horse, and a bunch of nasty demons. But like Atticus says, "Bring it, muthafuckas. Bring it."

  6. Old Kitty, luckily the author gives a brief lesson on pronunciation at he beginning of the book :)

Happy, not sure. They were picky little things and certainly did NOT spoil my enjoyment of the book nor make me think twice about buying book #2.

  8. I visited a blogger bud a while back who mentioned reading this novel. She mentioned being a bit disappointed. Though she didn't detail things, she also mentioned it was a pretty good read.

  10. Cherie, I really liked it and I plan on getting the next two in the series.

Angela, I was not the least bit disappointed. I mean two small quibbles, first time author? That's pretty good imho. Plus, any book that makes me stay up late gets a thumbs up :)
