Sunday pics

Winter finally arrived last Thursday with a good snowstorm, most of which melted yesterday. Now it has turned bitter cold, turning my driveway into a treacherous exercise in caution. Usually my son and I walk at night with the dog, Jonah (who is also a Larry, remember?) but I'm going to pass on the evening stroll tonight. Even with a flashlight I'm afraid it will be a little too slippery for me. I am hoping the cold won't last but I know lots of folks are happy for it and the snow, especially all the skiers. And to be honest, I don't begrudge them their snow. Let it snow, I say! Bring it! But let's leave the arctic air behind, eh?

Meanwhile, I'm enjoying True Blood and MISFIT, by Jon Skovron. After that though it's either off to the bookstore with my gift certificate or time to pay a visit to the library. I'm thinking the latter. Save the gift certificate for when I'm really desperate to read something the library doesn't have.

What are you doing? Enjoying winter? or wish it were spring?

  1. I enjoyed the milder winter until we got snow the last two days. Not too much but it's too cold. I want Spring.

  2. I'm at work on my lunchbreak and enjoying the blog!! :-)

I can't complain about the weather here - it's cold and frosty but not as wintry as over there!

Enjoy your day and trip to the lovely library! Take care

  4. We're having a tough winter by my standards. More snow than we've seen in years. I'm not a skier so it doesn't make my little heart happy to see the flakes fall. I just go get another blanket to wrap around me. Spring where are you?

  5. You know I'm hoping for lots of snow in the Pocono Mountains of PA. Natural snow would be great, but if this weather keeps up, the resort will make plenty of snow. Looking forward to our annual family ski trip next week!

  6. nice pic and nice snow, which we haven't really seen this winter here in my part of Europe this year :( We haven't even had subzero temperatures yet even though they are normal for winter.

    1. I only wish that was my house, Michael. It's actually a house 'in town' which can be seen from the landing in Damariscotta. My house is much, much smaller. But it is mine :)

  9. I've been wishing it were winter! We used to live in upstate NY, so I miss the snow so much down in VA.

  10. I mock your version of winter. it is currently -20, and we got just over two feet of snow the last few days, lol.
But it's beautiful outside, so I'll take it for now.
Come the end of February though...

  11. Booty enjoyed her first day of snow today. She sledded for about and hour with me and then later in the day got caught in another tumbling of snow on a neighborhood walk with her dad. She came in with snow in her hair and looked like a princess. It is quite lovely.

  12. What a beautiful photo. No chance of snow where I live. Not ever. It might snow this weekend where we are right now though.
