my next house
Point of Rocks Rd - Sarasota: This incredible display of Prairie style architecture was designed by the legendary John Randal McDonald in 1979, a follower of Frank Lloyd Wright. Sited on 180 feet of private Gulf of Mexico beachfront, this home captures spectacular views from each and every room. A bold open design gives way to stunning sightlines utilizing; multi-level flowing spaces, double-sided fireplace, open riser staircases and a continuous span of sliding glass doors. Privacy is created by moving partitions and operable shutters. Functional spaces and storage areas are skillfully concealed behind sliding Brazilian mahogany panels. Innovative before its time, this home incorporates energy saving features such as, floor air conditioning ducts and glass skylights working with our tropical Florida climate. Steel pilings and mahogany clapboard insure that this home is structurally sound. Price reduced from $3.9mil to $2.9mil. What a bargain!

I love looking a real estate listings for homes I could never afford. Are there interior pics of this? I'm so curious!
ReplyDeleteThere were. Not sure if there still are as this is an old post I resurrected(I was pressed for time), one that didn't get any comments back when I first posted it. Sadly, I don't think this house is available anymore but if I had come into a large sum of $ back then I would've snatched it up.
DeleteYeah, I want to see inside, too!
ReplyDeleteWow! That looks awesome. It's fun to dream.
ReplyDeleteIt is and looking at the real estate section is one way I do it - when I'm not sleeping :)
DeleteWhat a bargain! Snap it up today. Don't wait. ;)
ReplyDeleteI think it would be lovely to have all those windows to look out of while I'm writing.

ReplyDeleteI love that the price was reduced.

DeleteBeautiful house. It's a good thing the price was reduced. ;)
ReplyDeleteha, I know, now I can afford it, right?
DeleteInterestingly, I've just finished building a Lego replica of Fallingwater, and I can see the influences of Lloys Wright in that house. Once I get my hands on a couple of million that's the kind of place I'd be looking at :)
ReplyDeleteFallingwater is a lovely house. I adore Frank Lloyd Wright and his houses.
Deletedang!
ReplyDeleteexactly.
DeleteIf you buy it, can I come live in the guest house?
ReplyDeletewell, I'm not sure how your wife would feel about that but maybe you could both come for a visit ;)
DeleteI think that's the house from Thirteen Ghosts.ha I love it.
ReplyDeletereally? That IS funny!
DeleteI've got $10. Can I room with you if you come up with the other $2,899,990? That looks like a dream home...which it is :-)
ReplyDeleteIf I could afford that house I would so totally have a writer's retreat every winter for all my bloggy friends - for free!
DeleteNice. And how 'bout that price reduction? Too funny.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it funny how you just look at the house and know it sits on the beach?
ReplyDeleteI know. I'm drooling.
DeleteI, too, love to look at luxury real estate listings. This one is particularly nice, Marcy. Here's to dreaming!
ReplyDeleteI'm lifting my glass...
Deletehm. Reckon they take credit cards?
ReplyDeleteIf they do they're going to have to come way down on the price if I'm going to use mine :)
DeletePrice reduced? Awesome. Now, if only it would go down a few more million, and then some.
