Sunday pics - my town

this is the view from the bridge that crosses from Newcastle to Damariscotta. If I had pointed my camera the other way you might see Mrs. Hart's house, a big yellow mansion at the head of the Damariscotta River. This way, however, leads to the sea ...

and this is the view looking into town ...

I'm actually surprised I caught a such a quiet picture! Then again, it was barely 7:15AM. But you can see the railings, over which you would find yourself wet, in the reversing falls of the Damariscotta River.

Enjoy your Sunday.

  1. Wonderful pictures! Getting out early is the best time for photos. (Not that I get up early on the weekends.)

  4. I'm a big fan of Maine; my dad's half of the family is from Dover-Foxcroft. We just got back from spending a couple weeks at Sebec Lake -- swimming, kayaking, climbing Borestone Mountain. Always good to head up there into the woods and unplug.
