This is from a couple of weeks ago, at the town landing in Round Pond, which is about 15-20 minutes away. Next week I'll have the first batch of pumpkinfest pics.
Buoys! They're used to mark the lobster traps - each lobsterman has his own buoys, own colors so he can spot his traps. The ones hanging probably washed ashore.
Pumpkinfest!! I can't wait to see your pics. I grew up in Mass and there's nothing like New England in the fall, and it's the ideal place to celebrate Halloween (and Christmas). Now that I live in Egypt, I'll have to live vicariously through you. :-D
Now I know I've been following your blog for a while. I recall the fabulous pics you did of some pumpkin carvings last year...maybe it was the same pumpkinfest. I just remember some pretty cool pumpkin pics. And these shared today have such a relaxing feeling.
I love your pictures.
ReplyDeleteLike the composition of the last one. Sharp!
ReplyDeleteI love it when you post pictures of Maine!
ReplyDeleteI like how Maine ponds are the size of San Diego "lakes" -- everything's relative!
ReplyDeleteIt's actually the harbor :)
DeleteLove all the boats in the water. Seems like a cool place to take a vacation.
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to work out what those hanging things are in the third pic!
ReplyDeleteTake care

ReplyDeleteAh, Maine,
ReplyDeleteSOOO beautiful. I miss going to New England so much! Especially this time of year, the trees must be ablaze with golds, reds, and oranges.
Looking forward to the pumpkin picks.

ReplyDeleteI always love your pictures, but today, you taught me something, too. About the different colored buoys for the lobster traps. Cool. Makes sense, too.
