Hugo Award

The Hugo Awards, named after the Hugo Gernsback, the founder of Amazing Stories, are given every year for the best scifi or fantasy works. According to the Los Angeles Times it is "the highest honor bestowed upon science fiction and fantasy writing."

This is the first Hugo, given in 1953 to Alfred Bester for best novel, The Demolished Man. Have you read this?

    1. STARSHIP POOPERS... I mean TROOPERS :) Didn't like it much.. a bit fascistic for my tender taste :) but the fans love it. I had to learn a whole slate of military terms and ranks to translate it :)

  16. Never read it - not really interested in sci fi at all, but perhaps I should give it another go and be a tad more well-rounded.
