Days of Blood and Starlight
I recently finished reading this book, the sequel to Daughter of Smoke and Bone, a book that's probably in my top five of 2011. I've actually had it a while and the only reason I didn't dive into it immediately is because I knew there's still another book to come. I figured I would lessen the painful time between books. Because I can't wait for the next one.
I won't post the blurb, on the chance that you haven't read the first book, (I wouldn't want to spoil anything!) but I do highly recommend this series, especially if you like monsters :)
Enjoy your weekend -oh! And Dianne and I still have one slot left for June's First Impressions. If you're interested we'd love to have you. Just email one of us the first page to your manuscript.

That book's been getting a lot of attention lately. Is the series adult? Or young adult?
ReplyDeleteI'd technically call it adult, or NA (New Adult) but if I was back in high school it's exactly the sort of book I would have loved.
Deletethat one was also sold for movie adaptation but nothing happened so far...
ReplyDeleteI don't know if they could do justice to some of the characters, especially the monsters, like Brimstone. Some things are too hard to bring to the screen - but we'll see...
DeleteI have the first book in that series kicking around the house somewhere. I haven't read it yet, but maybe I should bump it up the TBR list.
ReplyDeleteThis has been on my radar (the first book, that is) for quite a long time. I'm getting it at the library this weekend--if it's in!
ReplyDeleteSo much talent in publishing these days.
ReplyDeleteI keep getting confused between this series and the Grisha trilogy that starts with Shadow and Bone. Their titles are similar as is the color palette of their covers. I'm not very into fantasy, but if there are monsters in this series, I'll have to take another look. I love me some monsters!! :-)
ReplyDeleteHave a happy Memorial Day weekend!
