The other night (Monday around 7/8pm eastern standard time) the son and I were standing on my porch and we saw an unidentified flying object. It had yellow/orangeish lights, and it did not blink the way planes do. There was in fact a plane in the sky further away, and I could clearly distinguish between the two. It also seemed to flying low in the sky, though admittedly it was hard to tell since it was dark. The UFO slowly moved across the sky, and we went inside.
So, the question is, what the heck was it? A drone? That was our first thought (but wtf was it doing flying over midcoast Maine?). Any thoughts? Have you ever seen a UFO?
Meanwhile, I'm over at Unicorn Bell today and Friday talking about building better characters and stories. I'll be back here on Monday with...I don't know, something!
Have a fabulous weekend!
Maybe it was Amazon testing out their drone delivery system. Still the dumbest idea ever.
ReplyDeleteMaybe it was looking for the Governor...or lobster.
ReplyDeleteI have not seen a UFO, but I have a friend who has.
Too bad it didn't find the Governor. And take him away. Far, far away.
DeleteWe saw something like that once. It was late and it was hovering probably 40 to 60 feet above the ground--not a plane (we lived near an air force base and VERY much knew the difference). Definitely one of the stranger things I've seen.
ReplyDeleteRe: the Governor. Heh, heh, heh. Sounds like a popular man.
ReplyDeleteBob and I saw something like that once while driving on a dark country road at night. We pulled over to watch the lights, but never did figure out what we were looking at.
Hopefully a drone?
ReplyDeleteProbably a drone but who can know? On our farm in the middle of nowhere when I was young, we often saw strange things in the sky. I believed in UFOs then.
ReplyDeleteNope, never seen a UFO. I can usually identify what I see flying overhead. I don't know what yours could have been, though.
ReplyDeleteA drone? But whose...
ReplyDeleteSo many things that we know nothing about...
now that you've seen them you might bet abducted in a week or so :)
ReplyDeletethat would be very inconvenient.
DeleteHA! "Inconvenient." :)
DeleteI drove home one Friday afternoon from work and there on my street, was a drone, coming in my direction. I assumed it was on some GPS type mission, updating locations. So, my guess is yes, it was a drone. I think they are getting almost common.
ReplyDeleteLiza is correct. Drones are now pretty common. And one can now purchase drones for a pretty $$$. Amazing really.
DeleteWhen I lived in Illinois, our house was close to an air national guard base. One day we drove toward Springfield and looked up to see an aircraft hovering in the sky. It was large and round and had some pieces that stuck out. It was before anyone spoke of drones. We figured it was an experimental aircraft.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
Nope, I can't say that I've ever seen a UFO... or if I did, I was too stupid/naive to recognize it as such.
ReplyDeleteI've never seen a UFO, but I love the TV docs where they interview pilots and policemen who've seen them. So amazing - and kinda creepy too. ;)
ReplyDeleteOh, and I love your new header! What a beautiful plant!
ReplyDeleteI've never seen a UFO, that I know of. I think I would freak out if I did. ;)
ReplyDeleteMy freshman seminar in college was about UFOs. It's on my transcript forever!
ReplyDeleteFirst off, like Lexa, I love your new header. You always have such pretty pictures in your header. :) I've never seen a UFO but I'd sure like to. Though like you, my first thought would probably be that it's a drone of some kind. The things they're doing now with drones and computers is pretty impressive and it made me think of this intel clip I saw the other day....

...though drones are far less exciting than aliens.... ;)
