Goals? What goals?

So. I’m nearing the end of Season Three of Buffy and approaching The Ascension. God, I love the Mayor. He’s so cheerfully evil. He’s my favorite kind of evil. You want him gone, but damn he’s entertaining! Sort of like Crowley in Supernatural. Not like Geoffrey in GOT. He couldn’t die soon enough, imo.

Meanwhile (huge sigh), it’s still winter, even though I wish it wasn’t. But...(and by the time spring gets here you’ll be sick of hearing me say this)…only 57 days til spring! I know it's just a date but it means the end of winter is in sight.

That’s what I wish it looked like out on my porch. Alas, it’s more like this:

(ok, so maybe I'm exaggerating a little, but I think I've illustrated my point)

But I digress. Let's talk about goals. I thought I'd keep myself honest by mentioning them once in a while. As far as books go I've done well so far, having read three whole books, all of which I enjoyed. I'm currently reading The Bone Clocks. I am also making progress with my revisions, and I've sent out a few queries on my scifi,  NO REST. So that's good. As far as exercise and food...well, not so good. I have been walking every morning and soon it will be light enough to walk at night when I get home, which will help. But. I found these awful Boston Creme Muffins with a chocolate glaze that are just soooo good...I really need to stop buying them.

But nevermind me, how are things with you? Enjoying any shows? Getting outside? Eating anything awful?

  1. Like the doughnut only in muffin form...
    Good luck with the queries.
I wish our back deck looked like that.

    1. Yes, exactly, only better. Too much better!

  2. It's been pretty mild here, which is good for getting a lot of walking in. It was almost 50 yesterday. And your countdown to spring is encouraging.

    1. I usually start counting down once the new year hits. By that time I've had enough winter.

  3. I used to get Boston Creme muffins from a certain grocery store chain in Maine and New Hampshire. My waistline is probably glad that we live very far, far away from them now.

I always loved the Mayor. I know he was evil and all, but he really was delightful.

Best of luck with your revisions!

    1. Probly the same one I get them from. You know what else I like about the Mayor of Sunnydale? He has a great attitude!

  4. Florida just had a rash of tornadoes and stormy weather. Today, the sun is shining through some dark, puffy clouds. The wind is a bit wild out there, too. And it's feeling nippy again.

Still waiting for my humerus to heal. Sent off two short pieces to Chicken Soup for the Soul. Trying to get back on track with my novel.

Hugs and chocolate! Love your pics. Always do.

    1. My mom lives in FL and she was a little worried about the tornado watch they had.

  5. I'm anxious for spring too. It's been a warm winter here so except when it rains, I've been walking outside. I'm excited for The 100 to return in about a week. Writing is going good.

    1. We've had a few really cold spells, and some snow, but nothing like the pic (I did say I might've exaggerated...)thank God! I'll be glad when it stays light out long enough for me to get in another walk.

  6. I really like The Bone Clocks.
As I swelter (it is just after six in the morning and the humidity is over 80 per cent) it is the snowy porch I long for. The sweaty season is doing me in.
As a small consolation I am eating more fruit than anything else.

    1. Yes, hot makes me want to eat light. Cold makes me want to put five layers of fat on. Did you ever review The Bone Clocks? I'd love to hear your thoughts on it.

  7. It's been spring-like the last three days here. But I get the feeling that Mother Nature is hiding behind the trees in our yard and behind her back are mounds of snowballs that she's fixin' to toss this way.

    1. Oh, I'm sure Mother Nature is going to slam us a few times before all is said and done.

  8. Ahhh. I LOVE Boston Creme ANYTHING! Glad I don't live near you. I'm making a Boston Creme icebox cake for another Boston Creme lover next week.

    1. I'll bet your grocery store has something similar, but I urge you not to look.

  9. Outside? LOL. Yesterday we got pummelled with rain. Now, I know how that sounds coming from a Californian, but seriously, freeways were closed due to flooding. The video and pictures are amazingly scary.

I just got into the show No Tomorrow. And now it's over. If it ever makes it to NetFlix, check it out. Only something like a dozen episodes, but a great ride nonetheless.

  10. Ooh, I love Buffy. When you start season 4, you will want to alternate with Angel. My all-time favorite episode of that show is/was a crossover event. The episode on Angel called I Will Remember You is the BEST.

Currently enthralled with Prison Break. I'm midway through season 4. It ended in 2009, but the 5th season is coming back in March. I plan to be caught up for the event!!!

  11. That muffin looks delicious. We haven't had a bad winter, but I'm worried that'll change in February. I've been excited about CW's superhero shows being back (Supergirl, The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow, and Arrow). They're so much fun.

    1. If I'm honest, our winter hasn't been horrible, but any winter is awful in my book and it ain't over it!

  12. I'm in FL with your mom, so yes, it feels like spring. =) This is actually the pleasant season when I should be out doing things, but I find myself trapped in front of my computer or doing housework. *sigh* I need to get my cloning machine back.

  14. It's been the coldest winter I remember here as well, and it won't ease a bit or end.
I'm mostly watching British period set series and also Medici Masters of Florence which I adore and Emerald City which is mildly shitty indeed.
