this is how you know you’re getting right

I always know when I’m on the right track because I’m eager to write, eager to get back to the story. There’s no doubt, no hesitation, no backspacing. I love it when I get to this place but I sure wish it were a little easier.

Oh, and btw, I have to tell you that the fabulous picture at the top was not taken by yours truly but by my son. He has a good eye, I think.

Here’s another brief installment from namesake…

“Cyberparties varied greatly depending on designer but they all had one thing in common, when you exited the program you would be stone cold sober and untouched, no matter what you did at the party, no matter what happened. Lots of kids liked cyberparties. They were just as fun (or ugly) as a real one but you’d never come home guilty of anything worse than dreaming. Because that’s what it was like, Arlen thought; it was like dreaming – only better.”

What are you writing?

  1. I want to go to a cyberparty!

And yes, that feeling when you know you're on the right track - oh how I love that feeling. I spent the last week feeling lost and confused and then BAM, that on-the-right track feeling hit. :) Looking forward to seeing where it takes me!

    Have a great weekend!

  5. True! Very true!
As evidenced by the fact that I *should* be working on the revisions requested by my agent for Caged Graves, but instead I'm compelled to work on the next chapter of my WIP Voltage.

Usually, I'd gravitate toward the easier path of revisions rather than plow hip deep through the mud of a first draft!

  13. I wish I could host a cyber party, then we could all sit down somewhere comfy and cozy with a fireplace and share a bottle of wine, or, better yet, find a deck overlooking the water as the sun sets on an 80 degree day. Maybe some sangria.

  14. Yes, I love the part of the process where it almost feels like the book just writes itself. It does take awhile to get there though.
