As I mentioned before, my son and his girlfriend are caretakers on Damariscove Island off the coast of Boothbay. They take care of the trails, answer questions about the island, pick up trash, and occasionally rescue seagulls - sometimes successfully, sometimes not. Anyway, they love their job and would probably live out there year round if they could and I can't say I blame them. I've only been out once but it is beautiful and today I have some more pictures to prove it - all taken by my son this summer. If you ever come to Maine, do try to get out there for a hike and don't forget to bring your camera.
enjoy your sunday

ReplyDeletethanks everyone; my son does take some pretty darn good pics.
Beautiful pictures! No wonder they love living there... except maybe that cottage would be a bit too on the rough side for me. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat if I already live in Maine? Should I still bring my camera? (Just kidding.)
