The story goes like this: A space transport vessel crash lands on a desert planet. Among the survivors are the pilot (Mitchell), bounty hunter (Hauser) and Riddick (Diesel), the dangerous prisoner. Worse yet, there are some nasty flesh-eating creatures on the planet that like to hunt in the dark and for this planet, a full month of darkness is about to descend. Can the survivors find a way to escape the planet before they're eaten?
I liked The Chronicles of Riddick, too, with Karl Urban. These movies are on my 'wish I owned' list. Seen? Liked?
Pitch Black surprised me - I wasn't expecting it to be that good or original.
ReplyDeleteme neither!
DeleteI haven't seen it. I don't watch much sci-fi that doesn't involve the cast of Firefly. My loss, I know.
ReplyDeleteI prefer CHRONICLES since it's more of a space opera which I lurv :) And you know about my undying love for Karl Urban and Judi Dench ;)
ReplyDeleteThe new film RIDDICK coming up later this year will be more like PITCH BLACK in tone.
That's right I forgot Judy was in it. She was lovely in that part.
Deleteyep, she plays Aereon, the ethereal being :)
DeleteSequel is coming out soon.
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to it :)
DeleteThat was the first Vin Diesel movie I saw. I liked the sequel even better. Can't wait for the next one Michael mentions.
ReplyDeleteI saw him in Fast and Furious, too.

ReplyDeleteI did enjoy Chronicles of Riddick... So I know I'd enjoy this one as well.
Meant to tell you the other day when I had stopped by I LOVE your SPRING header. Beautiful wildflowers...
They're awful pretty, aren't they? I do like to take pics of flowers :)
DeleteLOVED! Both of them. Best sci-fi movies ever besides the first Matrix.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely right up there in the top ten, the new Star Trek was pretty good and I can't wait for Into Darkness :)
DeleteI've seen bits and pieces of this...I should watch the whole thing through.
ReplyDeleteIt's so awesome.
ReplyDeleteI did like this movie. I didn't watch the other one though. I meant too.
