Pitch Black

Pitch Black is one of my favorite scifi movies. Aside from the fact that Vin Deisel is in it - looking hot as hell, I might add - there's also Rhada Mitchell and Claudia Black for the boys, and an excellent supporting cast including Keith David and Cole Hauser.

The story goes like this: A space transport vessel crash lands on a desert planet. Among the survivors are the pilot (Mitchell), bounty hunter (Hauser) and Riddick (Diesel), the dangerous prisoner. Worse yet, there are some nasty flesh-eating creatures on the planet that like to hunt in the dark and for this planet, a full month of darkness is about to descend. Can the survivors find a way to escape the planet before they're eaten?

I liked The Chronicles of Riddick, too, with Karl Urban. These movies are on my 'wish I owned' list. Seen? Liked?

  1. Pitch Black surprised me - I wasn't expecting it to be that good or original.

  2. I haven't seen it. I don't watch much sci-fi that doesn't involve the cast of Firefly. My loss, I know.

  3. I prefer CHRONICLES since it's more of a space opera which I lurv :) And you know about my undying love for Karl Urban and Judi Dench ;)
The new film RIDDICK coming up later this year will be more like PITCH BLACK in tone.
